Marine Spare Parts Supplier for Ships Managed from Cyprus

engine-room spare parts for Cyprus ship management offices — Limassol · Larnaca · the next port of call

The buying office is in Limassol; the ship is usually somewhere else.

Cyprus counts among the leading third-party ship management centres in the world and is the largest of its kind in the European Union, and Limassol is the heart of that maritime cluster. So the purchasing decision is taken in Cyprus, while the vessel that needs the part may be on another continent.

Office in Cyprus, delivery at the next call

A Cyprus-managed vessel is normally supplied wherever she trades. That is why the RFQ should carry the coming port call with its expected date and the agent appointed for it, next to the invoicing details of the managing office. The quotation is then built for that port, not for Limassol by default.

One vessel per request

Where one purchaser sends requests for more than one ship, each request is kept to a single vessel and its own equipment, under its own reference. Lines for different engines never share a quotation.

EU company to EU company

Cyprus has been a member state of the European Union since 2004, and Vessel Core OÜ is registered in Estonia, VAT EE102773714. A quotation to a Limassol office therefore passes between two EU businesses, in euro, with company details the buyer can check on the company verification page.

Spare parts, nothing else

Vessel Core identifies and supplies engine-room spare parts. It does not carry out repair, overhaul, crewing, agency or chandlery work, so the scope of an order is the parts list and the documents that travel with it.

Cyprus ports used as RFQ delivery context

When the part is wanted in Cyprus itself, the ports on the south coast are the addresses that come up. Name the port and the terminal or berth; for a vessel that will not call at Cyprus, give the port where she will actually be.

Limassol

The main port of the country, on the south coast, handling container, general cargo and passenger traffic. It is also the city at the heart of the Cyprus maritime cluster.

Larnaca

The other main port, likewise on the south coast. Its trade includes dry bulk for food and animal feed. State the berth and the agent with the expected date of the call.

Vasilikos

An industrial terminal on the south coast, tied to cement and other industrial bulk cargo. Name the consignee in the RFQ.

The next port of call

For a managed ship trading away from Cyprus, the useful address is not in Cyprus at all. Give the port, the expected date there and the agent, and the offer is prepared for that delivery point while the documents stay addressed to the office that orders.

Maker pages for the machinery on managed ships

The flag and the management office tell us who is buying; the nameplate tells us what to quote. The complete maker index sits on the makers page.

MAN B&W

Two-stroke main engines: liners, piston rings, fuel valves and exhaust valve parts, identified from the type designation. See MAN spare parts.

Hyundai and Doosan

Licence-built two-stroke main engines, where the builder plate and the works number lead to the right part book. See parts for Korean-built two-strokes.

HiMSEN

Four-stroke generator sets: cylinder heads, injection equipment, bearings and gasket kits. See HiMSEN engine parts.

Wärtsilä

Four-stroke auxiliary and main engines: heads, valve gear, fuel pumps and connecting-rod items. See Wärtsilä spare parts.

Yanmar and Daihatsu

Auxiliary diesels behind the switchboard: pistons, valves, nozzles and pump parts. See Yanmar and Daihatsu.

ABB and Mitsubishi MET

Turbochargers on main and auxiliary engines: cartridges, bearings, nozzle rings and filter silencers. See ABB and MET.

Alfa Laval

Fuel and lube oil separators: disc stacks, bowl parts, seal kits and gravity discs. See Alfa Laval separator parts.

Checklist for an enquiry sent from Cyprus

A complete first message saves a round of questions between the office, the ship and us. Each item is explained in the RFQ evidence checklist.

  • Vessel name and the managing office that receives the offer
  • Nameplate data of the engine or unit: maker, type, serial number
  • Part numbers with the drawing or parts-book page behind them
  • Photos of the part and of any marking stamped on it
  • Quantities, and whether the need is a defect or planned work
  • Next port of call, expected arrival and the appointed agent
  • Owner or class limits on origin: original, OEM or alternative
  • Invoicing entity and delivery address where the two differ

How the offer is set out for a management office

A superintendent and a purchaser read the same quotation for different things; both should find their answer on the line itself.

Each line by route

Every line states whether the offer is the maker's original part, an OEM-route part or a verified alternative, and which documents come with it. Where the owner or the class society narrows the choice, only the permitted route is offered.

Invoice and delivery kept apart

The commercial documents go to the company that orders; the packing list and the case marks name the ship and the delivery port. Whether the parts go to an office ashore or on board at a port inside or outside the EU decides the paperwork, so that is agreed before the order, not after it.

One contact through the enquiry

The same commercial contact handles the review, the quotation and the route confirmation, so a purchaser in Limassol does not have to repeat the ship's details at every step.

Frequently asked questions

Marine spare parts to Cyprus — common questions

Our ship will not call at Limassol. Can you still supply her?

Yes. With a managed vessel the office and the ship are rarely in the same place, so the delivery port is taken from the RFQ, not from the buyer's address. State the coming call, its date and the agent, and the quotation is made for that port while the invoice goes to the managing company.

Which Cyprus ports can be named as the delivery point?

Limassol first, as the main port of the country; Larnaca and the Vasilikos terminal where the ship or the consignee is there. Name the terminal or berth, the agent and the expected date of the call.

Is an order from a Cyprus company handled as an EU transaction?

Cyprus and Estonia are both member states of the European Union, so a Cyprus office buying from Vessel Core OÜ deals with an EU-registered company. How VAT and customs apply depends on where the parts are delivered, ashore or on board, inside or outside the EU; that is agreed with the buyer before the order. This is not tax advice.

Is the maker's original part the only option you quote?

No. Where the owner, the class society and the equipment permit, a line can also be offered through the OEM route or as a verified alternative. The route and its documents are shown on each line, so the superintendent can approve them one by one.

Send the RFQ with the next port call.

Name the ship and the equipment, attach whatever part evidence you hold, give the quantities and say where the vessel will be and when. The quotation answers line by line: the route for each part, the paperwork it travels with and the delivery terms to that port.
