Spare parts for Alfa Laval purifiers and clarifiers
The same separator frame runs in two duties, and the duty decides which parts are on the request. Saying which one the unit is set up for narrows a parts list faster than almost anything else you can send.
Purifier
Separates water and solids from oil. The bowl holds an oil–water interface, held in place by a gravity disc sized to the density of the oil being treated. Requests here usually involve the gravity disc set, sliding bowl bottom and its seal rings, operating water valve parts, and the disc stack.
Clarifier
Removes solids only, with no water phase to hold. The gravity disc is replaced by a clarifier disc or blank plug that closes the water outlet. Requests centre on the disc stack, bowl liner, seal rings, and the same spindle and bearing wear parts as purifier duty.
On ALCAP units the interface is held electronically rather than by a gravity disc, so a request for a gravity disc on an S-series machine usually means the model or the duty needs confirming first.
Alfa Laval purifier parts that wear first
Where separator requests concentrate in practice, whichever series the machine belongs to.
- Gravity discs & clarifier discs
- Friction pads, friction blocks & couplings
- Sliding bowl bottom & bowl body seal rings
- Disc stacks & top discs
- Spindle bearings & drive belts
- Operating water valve internals
- Paring discs & paring tubes
- Complete overhaul O-ring & gasket kits
The bowl number, the machine serial from the nameplate and the oil grade the unit runs on identify most of these without a part number. Photographs of the nameplate and of the part in question are usually enough to start.
Disc-stack separator — general arrangement
A licensed photograph of Alfa Laval equipment was not available at publication, so this technical reference illustrates the general arrangement shared by this equipment class.
Illustrative technical reference, not a photograph of Alfa Laval equipment or a Vessel Core installed reference — a licensed photo of this maker's equipment was not available. Vessel Core has no dealership, distribution, representation or partnership agreement with Alfa Laval; it operates as an independent spare parts supplier.
The plate data that makes a separator line quotable
A separator designation names a bowl size and a generation, and the parts inside the bowl follow from both. The machine serial number is what places a component in the right build, which is why it does more work in review than the type designation on its own.
- Full separator designation as stamped, with the bowl size digits — S861, MAPX 313, WHPX 410, not just the family
- Machine serial number and year of build from the nameplate
- Duty: fuel oil, lube oil or bilge, and the oil grade the machine is set for
- Gravity disc diameter where the machine takes one, or a note that it is an ALCAP machine and does not
- Bowl disc count and whether the stack has been renewed or is mixed from more than one set
- Whether the request is for the bowl, the frame, the drive or the control side — four different part groups on one skid
- Feed pump and its drive arrangement, where the line concerns the pump rather than the separator
- Part number and the parts-book page it came from, treated as a starting point rather than a conclusion
- Running hours since the last bowl overhaul, and whether the bowl has been balanced since
- Photographs of the nameplate, of the bowl top with the lock ring markings, and of the component in place
Reliable parts supply for fuel oil and lube oil purification.
Separator RFQs should identify the exact installed unit, serial/build, bowl or component reference, required documentation, quantity, port and ETA. Vessel Core reviews OEM-route and verified alternative options against that evidence.
OEM or Alternative — Your Choice
OEM-route Alfa Laval parts can be reviewed for class-sensitive overhauls and warranty-required repairs. Verified alternative components can be reviewed for planned service kits — disc stacks, O-ring sets, and operating water valves — where buyer approval allows it.
Time-Critical Separator Failure Review
Fuel oil or lube oil separator failures can be operationally time-critical. Operating water valves, bowl seals, disc stacks and solenoid valve kits are reviewed against supplier availability, documentation needs and freight options.
Common ALCAP, WHPX, MAPX, MAB and MMB Requests
We review common Alfa Laval marine separator requests from older MAB and MMB series units to ALCAP and WHPX separator context, plus related treatment-system component requests where clear equipment evidence is provided.
Service Kit Supply
Planned overhaul service kits for Alfa Laval separators — including disc stacks, O-ring sets, solenoid valve kits, and bearing sets — are available as assembled packages against separator model designation and service interval.
Port-Aware Route Planning
Supply route, handover option and freight timing are reviewed against confirmed RFQ details, vessel ETA, port context, documentation needs and part availability before quotation. No fixed delivery commitment is made before availability and route are confirmed.
Technical Identification from Model Data
Separator model designation, serial number range and component description are sufficient to begin identification and sourcing review. Part numbers are helpful but not always required. Photographs of failed components or worn disc stacks are also accepted for part identification.
Alfa Laval separator parts — common questions
Can Vessel Core review OEM-route and verified alternative routes for Alfa Laval separator spare parts?
Yes. Vessel Core can review OEM-route and verified alternative supply options for ALCAP, WHPX, MAPX, MAB, MMB, and PureNOx separators. Alternative-route items such as disc stacks, O-ring kits and operating water valves are reviewed at RFQ stage with documentation requirements confirmed before offer.
Which Alfa Laval separator models do you cover?
RFQs may reference ALCAP S-series, WHPX, MAPX, MAB, MMB or PureNOx separator configurations. Provide the complete model, serial/build, bowl or component identity and part evidence before a route is confirmed.
Can you supply Alfa Laval separator parts for time-critical situations?
Yes. Separator failures affecting fuel oil or lube oil purification can be treated as time-critical RFQs. Priority supply routes and freight options are reviewed after the part details, vessel timing, port and documentation needs are confirmed.
How do I submit a quote request for Alfa Laval separator parts?
Submit vessel name, separator model designation (e.g. ALCAP S861-01-777), part numbers or a description of the component required, and your port or vessel ETA. If part numbers are not available, the separator model and component description are sufficient to begin identification and sourcing review. Photographs of worn or failed parts are also accepted.
Why the maker name appears on this page
Maker names help identify equipment and prepare an RFQ. They do not imply any dealership, distribution, representation or partnership agreement between Vessel Core and the manufacturers named on this page; there is none. Alfa Laval and its separator designations are referenced solely so that a buyer can describe the machine on board and the component required.
